Critical Care

Who will you call in the event that your pet needs urgent medical attention?

Being prepared ahead of time can vastly improve the chances of a positive outcome for your loved one. Claws N Paws Animal Hospital offers critical care services any time during our normal office hours. We’re prepared to step in, get the situation under control and handle your pet’s emergency care with confidence and efficiency.

Some of the common types of pet emergencies we see include:

  • Choking
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Persistent diarrhea or vomiting
  • Bleeding
  • Swollen abdomen
  • Trauma
  • Lameness
  • Inability to urinate or defecate
  • Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
  • Disorientation
  • Extreme lethargy
  • Sudden change in weight (gain or loss)
  • Seizures or convulsions
  • Loss of consciousness

If your pet is experiencing any of these things, please call us or come to the animal hospital immediately. If at all possible, we always recommend calling ahead before coming in. This allows us to advise you on the best way to receive medical attention for your animal.

As with human medical situations, urgent care may be required when the condition is notlife-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to accommodate you between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionist will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

When it comes to pet emergencies every second counts and quality care matters. You can feel confident in the service your pet will receive with us!
